ABCMouse.com is an education program for children ages 2-8 with over 8500 interactive books, educational games, puzzles and other learning activities.
Go to A to Z Food America contains thousands of recipes, hundreds of fascinating culture and ingredient articles, and essential culinary resources, Food America brings United States cuisines to you!
Go to A to Z Maps contains more than 100,000 royalty free, downloadable maps. These maps can be used in school reports, school lesson plans, personal research projects for history, genealogy, and business reports. This reference source offers visual glossaries, video dictionaries, and geography learning games.
Go to A to Z USA contains three major categories of information including 127 feature articles for every state and territory, 103 articles for the USA as a country, and video dictionaries to learn geography. There is full-text coverage of the country's people, history, economy, geography, symbols, culture, and society. Students can use this as a one-stop reference for state reports, projects, and presentations. Teachers can create lesson plans and activities. There are tens of thousands of downloadable images that are royalty free and allowed to be used for non-commercial purposes.
Go to A to Z World Culture contains 175 county culture guides, covering over 60 topics. Curious about the world? This database offers information about world history, cultures, languages, foods, and religions.

Go to Britannica Library offers three research sites in one: Children, Young Adults, and the Reference Center for older students and adults. Patrons can choose the age-appropriate level that works best for them and conduct research, complete homework assignments, and work on special projects. Research can be stored in a personal “My Britannica” account.

HeritageQuest provides genealogical and historical sources for more than 60 countries, with coverage dating back as early as the 1700s. Specific types of records available include birth, baptism, marriage, death, and census records, cemetery indexes, military records, immigration and naturalization records, Social Security Death Index (SSDI), U.S. public records, and a map and photo collection from the Library of Congress (1840-2000).

Newsbank consolidates current and archived information from thousands of newspaper titles, as well as newswires, web editions, blogs, videos, broadcast transcripts, business journals, periodicals, government documents and other publications. Using this online resource, users can explore tens of millions of current and archived news articles and obituaries in order to pinpoint information from primary sources at the local, state, regional, national, and international levels. Full-text articles from “The Reporter,” “The Philadelphia Inquirer” and “Philadelphia Magazine” can be accessed.

Go to NonProfit Courses Nonprofit.Courses is an education/training platform of 2000 videos and podcasts from less than 5 minutes to more than 5 hours on just about any aspect of running a nonprofit organization. It's open access, and nearly all the content is free. It's based right here in Lansdale, a block from the library, at 318 Columbia Ave.
Go to PowerKids offers interactive books for children via "BookFlix" and several authoritative research databases to use for school projects by elementary, middle school, and high school students and to explore topics for fun. PowerKids is a subset of PowerLibrary's e-resource collection. Lansdale patrons will be prompted to log in with their library card barcode number to gain access to these e-resources. Go to PowerLibrary is an online collection of databases offered to all Pennsylvanians and provides free access to newspapers, magazines, journals, images, STEM resources, and ebooks for children. Subjects covered include biography, business, reference, health, science, and literature. Unlike web search engines, these resources offer authoritative and reliable information, which is mainly available in full-text. To access the PowerLibrary's e-resources, patrons need to enter their Lansdale Public Library card barcode number as directed by the site. PowerKids features the electronic resources geared specifically to children within PowerLibrary. Note: When prompted for a MONTGOMERY COUNTY NORRISTOWN-PUBLIC LIBRARY barcode number: You may enter your Lansdale Library barcode number.
Go to Pronunciator is an online language learning service where patrons can pick from 80 languages and learn with self-directed lessons, live teachers online via “ProLive,” movies, and music. Each language has an average of 9,000 instructional phrases. The service also has English as an additional language for 50 non-English languages. It uniquely offers the ability to learn any language in any other language — making for 4,000 possible course combinations! There is no substitute for human interaction when learning a language. Pronunciator’s ProLive feature provides 256 scheduled half-hour conversation classes online each week. Each “ProLive” class is led by a qualified instructor with small groups of five people at different levels, including Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Pronunciator also has a “ProCitizen” course to prepare those users who want to take the test to become naturalized U.S. citizens.

Go to Science Reference Center is an extensive research database that provides easy access to a multitude of full-text science-oriented content. It is designed to meet every student's science research needs and contains full-text content from science encyclopedias, reference books, periodicals as well as animations, images, and videos. Topics covered include: biology, chemistry, earth and space science, environmental science, health medicine, history of science, life science, physics, science and society, science as inquiry, technology, wildlife and biographies of scientists.
